Terms of Service
The agreement between us. Last updated 7 November 2026.
Who we are
Zeal Publishers, 581 Turtle Hollow Dr, Freehold Township, NJ 07728, United States. By using this website, submitting a form, or buying a service from us, you agree to these terms.
What we sell
We provide publishing and author-marketing services — formatting, proofreading and editing, cover design, distribution to retail platforms, and marketing support — sold as packages and as custom projects such as ghostwriting. Prices shown on this site are for the packages as described. Anything outside a package is quoted in writing before work starts, and no quote is binding until we have both agreed it.
Your manuscript stays yours
You keep every right in the work you send us. We claim no ownership of your manuscript, and no share of your royalties. We ask only for the permission needed to do the job — to edit, typeset, design for and upload your book to the platforms you have asked us to publish on.
In return you confirm that the work is yours to publish: that you wrote it or hold the rights, that it does not infringe anyone else's copyright, and that it is not defamatory or unlawful. If a claim arises from work you gave us, that is your responsibility, not ours.
What we don't promise
We cannot promise sales. Nobody honestly can. Specifically, we do not guarantee any number of copies sold, any revenue, any bestseller ranking or category placement, any reviews, any particular search position, or acceptance by any retailer. Anything we say about likely outcomes is an opinion based on experience, not a commitment.
Free tools on this site
The calculators, scorers, quizzes and document checkers on this site are free and informational. They generate their output using an AI model and they can be wrong.
To be explicit: our contract checker explains what a document you paste appears to say. It is not legal advice, it is not a substitute for a lawyer, and it is not an assessment of any company. Our cost estimators give indicative ranges, not quotes. Nothing produced by a tool on this site creates a professional relationship of any kind.
Third-party platforms
Publishing your book means uploading it to services we do not control — Amazon KDP, Barnes & Noble Press and others. Their rules, review processes, timelines, fees and decisions are theirs. If a platform rejects, delays or removes a book, we will work with you to fix what can be fixed, but we are not responsible for their decisions.
Those platforms also have their own rules about AI-assisted content, which change. If AI was used in producing your book, tell us, so that it is disclosed correctly where disclosure is required.
Payment, changes and refunds
Work begins once payment or the agreed deposit is received. Refunds and cancellations are covered by our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which sets out what can be refunded at each stage of a project and how to make a request.
Your responsibilities
- Give us accurate contact and payment details.
- Get back to us at the review stages. A project can only move at the speed of its approvals.
- Keep your own backup of your manuscript. We are careful, but the master copy of your life's work should never exist only on someone else's server.
Limits
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim connected to a service is limited to the amount you paid us for that service. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — for example lost profits or lost anticipated sales.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Ending the agreement
Either of us may end a project in writing. You pay for work performed up to that point; we hand over the deliverables that work produced.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, and the courts there have jurisdiction.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version in force for your project is the one published when you agreed to it.
